Water retention: Any of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications can cause water retention. They can also cause high blood pressure or interfere with blood pressure medications.

Yes: Any NSAID can cause weight gain. Advil (ibuprofen) is a weak agent which interferes with aspirin. Physician should advise.
