What is the latest cure for generally dry skin?

Not really a cure: There really is no actual "cure" for dry skin. Regular maintenance with a moisturizer to keep it from drying is the best treatment. However, there are conditions that can cause the skin to be dry (hypothyroidism among them), so seeing your doctor to evaluate possible causes would be important.
