See audiologist 1st.: It is important to first see a board-certified audiologist who will test your hearing and diagnose any hearing issues. This determines what type of hearing aids you may need. From an audiologist: You can not and should not simply by a hearing aid. You need to see both an otologist and more specifically an audiologist to determine the kind and severity of the hearing loss and be properly fitted.
