It depends...: ... on the details of antibiotic resistance, which in turn is related to where you are in the world. Despite all the news stories, true multidrug resistant gonorrhea is still absent in the US, including the NY area. The standard recommended treatment -- a shot of ceftriaxone plus either azithromycin or doxycycline by mouth -- will be 100% effective (assuming you weren't infected in, say, Korea).
