Yes: Liver functions are altered in hepatitis. ( a, b, c, d, e ) to a varying degree. It most of the time correlates with disease activity. Serial fu of viral count and liver function helps. Treatment alters the course of disease. Untreated hep b can cause cirrohsis, liver cancer in long run.
