A 42-year-old member asked:
i'm worried because my penis and my scrotum itches, what do you suggest?

Dr. Jalal Zuberi answered

Itching: Most common cause of itching in genital area, groin and buttocks for males is jock itch, which is a type of fungal infection, also called ring worm, although it is really not a worm. It is easily diagnosed by exam by your doc who can also do skin scrapping if doubtful for treatment with OTC meds.

Can I get infected if I get a splinter in my penis or scrotum?

Yes !!: Yes you can...I am not going to ask how the splinter got there, but you would want to have the splinter removed. An infection can most certainly occur and i would imagine that would not be a fun place to have one. Because of the lcoation, i would imagine it would be much easier for a doctor to remove and examine then yourself, unless of course you are very flexible or double jointed.

Hi, I have yellowish tanish small numbs on my scrotum and my penis shaft? I don't know what it is please help. Thank you

Dr. Mitchell Fraiman answered

Resolved: What is a numb. If these are small bumps they are likely sebaceous cysts which are not dangerous. They can be removed if bothersome. You should have a doctor see them to ensure the above.

Unclear, but...: To surely define what it is, one needs to at least analyze its onset, progress, associated symptoms, etc. & its physical findings, although clinically it may be just a sebaceous cyst or subcutaneous lipoma. However, it is not that hard to sort these out correctly by following instruction in articles listed in http://www.formefirst.com/onDealSickness.html. More? Contact me and I can help.
