Yes: The best way to avoid or minimizing scar formation is to allow wounds to heal naturally if possible. Any wound may leave a scar, but if a scab is irritated ('picked at) it could become infected, stay inflamed and irritated, and the constant re-injury will increase the likelihood of a scar or worse scar.
