Tension or TMJ: This could be from a number of things and a physical exam should be done to be sure. However, you may have tension in your muscles that are being stretched when you chew (in the same muscles that lead to a tension headache), or you may have something called TMJ syndrome which involves the joint at the top of your jaw. Discuss with our physician, many treatments for each.
