GN: Glossopharyngeal neuralgia. The pain of gn is diffuse and most often felt in the ear, pharynx, tonsil, posterior aspect of the tongue, and jaw areas. Intraoral trigger areas are common and normal activities such as chewing, talking and swallowing especially of cold liquids, can worsen the pain. See a neurologist or orofacial pain doctor for evaluation and diagnosis.
