Is it recent?: Some people are born with 2 different color eyes and it is only a cosmetic issue. If one eye(and i assume that you mean the iris color) is now darker or lighter it could be due to a melanoma, bleeding, iron particle in the eye, etc. This could represent a life threatening or eye threatening disease and you should go to an ophthalmologist now.

Heterochromia iridis: Can result from developmental/genetic disorders (rare) such as waardenburg syndrome, parry-romberg syndrome, or sturge-weber syndrome or from physical trauma to the eye. An ophthalmologist may be able to shed more light on the origin in your case.
