Not always: Certainly these symptoms are commonly due to yeast, but there can be many causes and most can be detected by an exam and some simple tests. A big mistake is to always assume it is simply yeast.

Not always: Other causes can be lack of estrogen called atrophic vaginitis or bacterial vaginosis. See your gyn for an accurate diagnosis as over treating "yeast" with otc meds may be detrimental.

Most likely: Try an over the counter remedy such as lotrimin (clotrimazole) for a couple of weeks. See your gyn dr. If this fails to take care of the problem.
