Likely electrolytes: Other than normal stiffness or a localized "charleyhorse",you should not have generalized muscle cramps. Most likely cause is an electrolyte imbalance / deficiency. If you did not have this in training and your longest run was at least 20 miles, then do this: review your fluid and food/gel intake for both. You may see a difference in water/energy drinks/gels which could lead to deficiency. Also, heat.

Very common: Delayed onset muscle soreness caused by overstretching of the muscle fibers after marathon. Good rest, moist heat,NSAIDs OTC and usually DOMS goes away within 10-14 days. In case your pain continues for more than a couple of weeks, you should probably see your doctor.
