NO....!: Chicken pox is one of the very contagious diseases. Other children, elderly, immuno-compromised people can get it from your child and can have worse suffering. Keep your child indoor, isolate him/her from other people at home.

Contagious: .A person with chickenpox is most contagious during first 2 to 5 days of being sick. That's usually about 1 to 2 days before the rash shows up.Chickenpox can be spread without knowing it. Someone with chickenpox can pass it to others by coughing or sneezing. Droplets spread virus by breathing in these drops or getting them on hands.

Things to consider: Chickenpox is contagious starting a day before spots appear until they are all dried out or a weak later, whichever is longer. It is one of the most contagious of common illnesses, passing to vulnerable individuals with brief exposure to airborne or direct contact. It can be fatal to those with weakened systems. That said, it would not be dangerous to the baby.
