?tonsilloliths: If periodontal disease has been ruled out, it is very possible, if your tonsils have not been removed, that food particles may be getting into the crypts of your tonsils. That can cause a bad odor. The other realistic possibility is reflux of acid from the stomach (gerd). These 2 diagnoses need to be confirmed as a cause of bad breath and a sore throat.
