Causation ?: 35 y C/O "jaw pain". Assuming is chronic firstly see dentist. If no dental disorder, then consider Temporomandibular disorder, TMD. CT/MRI images might be needed. Be aware that doctors/dentists are not of one mind, in either school, about standards for diagnosis nor as to the customary treatment of TMD. See my comments:

R/O TMJ: TMJ can be very difficult to treat and overlap several specialists. I have had the best results with ENT and oral surgery. It can start with a poor bite due to genetics/after trauma/Bruxism secondary to stress. A good nite guard is essential. topical Voltaren (diclofenac) gel and a low dose muscle relaxant like skelaxin/FLEXERIL /BOTOX/LIDOCAINE injections can help. Prednisone with quick taper may help.

Visit the dentist: for complete dental evaluation to rule out dental pain and possible referral to orofacial pain specialist for TMJ and facial pain management.
