2 reasons why bad: 1) constant chewing work-hardens metal resulting in bent (displaced teeth) or broken (corrective movement stops) wires, loosens the braces from the teeth, and could allow cavities to form behind the braces. 2). Chewing tobacco is one of the most efficient ways of creating mouth/throat cancer, in addition to being a filthy habit. Shame to have straight teeth as they cut your cancerous jaws away.
