More likely: I cannot comment on cancer, but as for pd (periodontal disease), more than 3/4 of americans above age 30 have pd. Some know it, others do not know, as it is a silent disease until too late to treat. Pd is also contagious and can be passed on from mother/father to children. Fortunately, it is simpler and easier to control pd if found at earlier stage of disease. See a dentist/periodontist for exam.

Many factors: Periodontally speaking, i need to ask you questions. Do you see your dentist regularly? What is your homecare like? Do you have unreplaced teeth? Does your significant other have periodontal disease? How is your overall health? These are just basic questions, your dentist will take x-rays and measure your pockets. In regards to cancer any genetic predisposition puts you one step closer. Good luck.
