Impetigo: Impeitgo is a skin infection usually caused by strp and staph bacteria. It is contagious and if untreated, may cause significant complications. If you only have a few spots, the surer way of trreatment is mupirocin, prescribed by your doctor, to apply on the sores. More widespread lesions should be treated with oral antibiotics.

Impetigo: Antibiotics which can be helpful include penicillin derivatives (such as augmentin) and cephalosporins such as Cephalexin (keflex). If clinical suspicion supported by culture results show other bacteria, such as drug-resistant staph (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus or mrsa), other antibiotics such as Clindamycin or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or septra) are used.
