A member asked:

Kidney transplant and pregnancy control. i've recently had a kt and i would like to know which kind of contraceptive pills i should take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See your kidney doc: A patient with a kidney transplant is not the average patient that takes contraceptive pills(oc). In general, all women who use ocs are at greater risk for blood clots and slightly increase your risk of strokes, blood clots, high blood pressure, heart attacks, gallbladder disease, vision problems, and liver tumors. Your nephrologist knows why you had the 'kt' and the meds you take. Talk to him.
