6 months: The majority of babies will sleep through the night by 6 months. We consider 6-8 hours as sleeping through the night. 1 month old babies have no concept of night and day. You can try to keep him awake a little more each time he is up and very slowly he will sleep more at night.

Sleep routines: All adults ; kids wake in the night but most learn to resettle ; most don't remember the event. An infant that never learned to start sleep alone is unlikely to do so in the night. Day naps should be limited to no > 2hrs or the kid can flip his day/night pattern.Shaping a bedtime routine that allows baby to unwind, listen to a story, but settle in bed alone can also improve this problem.
