Yes: Conditions including, but not limited to, heart attack, stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and vascular kidney disease are all increased in patient with uncontrolled high blood pressure. For almost all related problems, control of BP reduces the risk at or near that for non-hypertensive people.
