Common causes: Straining or valsalva maneuver during lumbar puncture, very high blood pressure, presence of tumors or hemorrhages, pseudotumor cerebri, hydrocephalus, venous thrombosis, brain abscess, encephalitis, swelling of brain due to edema of stroke, etc.
