Chlamydial infection: Chlamydia is always susceptible to some antibiotics (e.g. doxycycline, azithromycin, levofloxacin) but always resistant to others (the penicillins, cephalosporins, and others. However, this pattern is 100% reliable; chlamydia is never resistant to the recommended antibiotics (unlike gonorrhea, which often is resistant to common treatments). Chlamydia does not affect the heart or brain in any way.
