Side effects include short-term memory loss, word finding difficulty, numbness and tingling, upper respiratory tract infections, diarrhea, nausea and anorexia. Side effects which most commonly lead to discontinuing the drug include fatigue and confusion.

Many things: It can reduce seizure frequency, prevent migraine headaches and other neuropathic pain states. As for side effects weight loss, fatigue and dizziness are the most common.
