No, not usually: People of all ages can hallucinate when there's something wrong, but this does not happen without cause. If having hallucinations, please see your physician for an evaluation. Specialty consultation (psychiatry or neurology, etc) may be helpful also.

Not generally: The elderly may hallucinate if there are certain medical conditions, but don't generally hallucinate. Medication interactions, poor hearing, poor vision, and various illnesses can indeed cause hallucinations. Please consult with your physician to get this checked. It could be a serious problem that may affect your overall health.
