Changes: Changes in the environment and even sleeping or eating habit tend to trigger migraines. However having migraine with minor altitude changes is uncommon. On the other hand, even those without migraine can get a migraine -like headache when ascend quickly to high altitude areas. As for the specific mechanism, I have no idea.
