Unlikely: If persistent jaw pain or very severe, then consider dental and/or physician evaluation.

Hard to say: You may be putting jour jaw into an unusual position that causes pain. The only way to find an answer for your question is to see a dentist and have your jaw evaluated. If your pain level increases, there is popping, your jaw gets stuck , these are signs that your problem needs immediate attention.

YES: Yes, but the nerve probably is being compressed by the malfunctioning of your jaw (tmj). See a dentst.
