Ointment: Aquaphor ointment is great for wound healing if applied several times a day.

This sound normal: For a few weeks after surgery, there is increased skin turn-over in areas affected. This can mean you may shed like a lizard. Use a good moisturizing lotion to lessen the problem. If there is truly dead skin, your doctor needs to be involved to insure good healing. Vaseline is a good moisturizer but if too greasy use a lanolin-based cream.
