Post partum hormone: Normally, a variety of hormonal changes occur post partum. Only in endocrine disease do these hormones need to be 'rebalanced'. The most important hormone is thyroid rx in hypothyroidism. This med needs to be increased during pregnancy and then decreased after. Prolactin levels go up to assist breast feeding and can be reduced with meds if not breast feeding.
