A member asked:

Can hemorrhoids stop bowel movements?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not directly: Painful hemorrhoids can make it difficult pass the bowels but not cause bowel blockage. Usually it is the other way, that constipation causes worsening hemorrhoid irritation. Avoid constipation, drink more water, eat more fiber, fruits and vegetables, add metamucil fiber.
