RLQ Abdominal Pain: The "classic" symptoms of appendicitis include generalized abdominal pain that eventually "moves" to the right lower abdomen. The pain becomes constant, progressively worsening, made worse by movement (coughing, walking), associated with nausea+/-vomiting+/-decreased appetite+/-fever. Of course, only about 1/2 the time do we see these classic symptoms-- if you suspect appendicitis, see a doctor.

Pain, anorexia: The classic description: crampy pain that starts at the umbilicus (belly button) and over a few hours moves to the right lower quadrant of the abdomen and becomes constant; anorexia, or not being hungry; tenderness on physical examination at mcburney's point (in the right lower quadrant). Of course, symptoms can vary in different individuals.
