Cranberry juice: Cranberry juice has long been promoted as a remedy for urinary tract infections (uti). However, in addition to being uncomfortable because of the associated pain, uti's can be serious, leading to bacterial pyelonephritis (kidney infection). At the first sign of a UTI limited to the bladder (pain and burning with urination) you can try the home remedy. Without prompt relief, seek medical advice.

Fluids: Kidney infection is a serious matter and should be treated by a doctor. Absent that, drinking lots of fluids will help dilute the urine and flush the urine.
