Sounds like: You need someone to work with to identify the causes of these changes. Using alcohol to escape unhappiness will only complicate things for you, and not solve whatever problems are there. Perhaps you're seeking some kind of distraction from yourself ; your feelings, when what will help you more in the long run will be focused review of why you're unhappy. A psychologist can help with this.
