Human nature: People tend to believe they will not suffer the consequences of their behavior. Food is such a ingrained part of what we treasure that there are multiple shows and networks dedicated to food with millions of viewers. What do you imagine the viewer rating is for "low calorie foods you need but taste like bird food? People listen when they experience the consequences of their eating habits.

CV disease: There is not a single cause of the spectrum of cardiovascular disease. Diet is certainly a component as well as lack of exercise. There are few physicians who don't recommend prudent dietary practices. Health organizations such as kaiser permanente recommend the mediterranean diet, the best evidenced diet. Heart assoc. Recommends dash for hypertension.
