A member asked:

Is bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) of soda a good home remedie for a uti i have read a spoonful in a glass of water is good ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: It's probably the fluid alone - alkalinizing your urine will not kill bacteria in your urine. You should remain "hydrated" at all times (urine output >/= 2 quarts/day). (urinary alkalinization is usually a treatment for uric acid kidney stones - but is better done as potassium citrate/not sodium bicarbonate.).
