What to do when you hear a heart beat in one of your ears?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

is it when you sleep: Depends. If there are no other symptoms -chest pain, shortness of breath or dizziness then not much needs to be done. If you hear it only when you are lying down at night it could just be a strong heart beat or a PVC (premature ventricular contraction) that you are hearing. If they are a bother you can see your doctor to get further testing (ekg +/-holter monitoring).
