Birth control pills : Most doctors agree that as long as you bleed regularly and cyclicly when you are on the standard cyclic birth control pills you are okay. A spot of blood or a normal period or even clumps of blood are probably within the range of normal. Just as long as you bleed. When in doubt, check your thyroid and prolactin labs.
