?: I'm not sure of the connection between a sore throat/cold/flu and contact lenses. If you are having red or itchy eyes, you may have either allergies or congestion involving the eyes. In that case, you may try avoiding contacts until cleared up.

No: As long as your eyes are not affected by the likely viral upper respiratory tract infection (no redness to eyes, no discharge, no pain), then wearing contacts should be ok. If symptoms change however, switch to glasses.
