A member asked:

How does a flu outbreak affect the government and schools?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Flu outbreak: Thanks to the immunisation of children and adults, we have not had a full blown flu epidemic lately. But unvaccinated children and adults can get sick and there is absentism in govt offices which slows down some essential services. As far as schools are concerned they try their best to encourage vaccinating children, but there is absenteism and can lead to school closings if the epidemic is not contro.
