A member asked:

What kind of drugs can be taken while using roacutane? and why is alcohol forbidden?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

liver toxicity: Roaccutane (isotretinoin) is generally given for severe recalcitrant cystic acne. It has a host of potential side effects but one of the most important is its effect on the liver. You don't want to take any medications or consume alcohol that would also have toxicity on the liver and amplify the affects of the isotretinoin. Your doctor will check your liver functions periodically.
