Tinnitus: Probably you're describing tinnitus. Many causes are possible, incl med side effect, middle ear issues, or exposure to loud sounds, but the ones you mentioned are not generally supported by research. About 20% of middle-aged people (55-56yo) report this experience, so it's not uncommon.
