A member asked:

Is jaundice the same as hepatitis?

No: Jaundice is an elevation of bilirubin in the blood which makes the whites of the eyes yellow. Although hepatitis, viral or not, can cause jaundice, you can have hepatitis without jaundice and jaundice can be caused by other things.

Not exactly.: Jaundice is yellow skin from build-up of bilirubin; it has many causes, one of which is hepatitis, or inflammation of the liver.
