Depends in cause : Is the swelling due to hormones, hernia, varicocoele, infection, trauma, tumor, simple hyperplasia...? As you can see there are many potential causes, treatment will depend on the cause. Usually ice is the easiest first treatment followed by gentle compression with rest and oral nsaids and possible use of topical/oral arnica ointment or steroids.
