A member asked:

What does the roof of your mouth look like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pink with ridges: A normal palate is pink, with firmly attached tissue. There are ridges called rugae towards the front that are alike a finger print and helps give stop points for your tongue during speech and swallowing. The back of your hard palate is smooth and transitions into the soft palate that vibrates during speech and lifts during swallowing. The uvula is the pink dangling tissue in the center back.
