A member asked:

Can you take nyquil if you take lorazepam?

Caution together: Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine which has many uses. Caution should be exercised when used with nyquil or any liquid that contains alcohol because both can cause sedation. Also the alcohol can potentiate the effects of a benzodiazepine causing it to be more sedating than usual.

You can, but...: You may have a lot of trouble waking up in the morning. I assume you would take nyquil at night like it is intended, and often Lorazepam is taken at night for sleep. So you may want to take only 3/4 or 1/2 of your usual dose of Lorazepam if you need to take nyquil for a cold at night and don't overdo the nyquil either.
