Benign: A serous cyst is one that produces a thin watery fluid (like serum, hence serous) - they are benign and do not spread. They can cause problems due to location and/or size and typically only get bigger with time, they do not go away on their own.

Benign: A serous cyst is a simple cyst as opposed to complex. It is not cancerous and rarely affects ovarian function if removed.
