A member asked:

Can anyone explain the biology of tissue hypoxia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lack of oxygen: Tissue hypoxia means not enough oxygen is being delivered to the tissue in question. This may occur for many reasons including lung problems, heart problems, circulation problems or obstruction of the airway (as in sleep apnea) treating the underlying cause is ideal; supplementing with oxygen may also be helpful.
