See below: Phantom limb pain is a phenomenon that can occur after a person has an amputation of a limb or part of a limb. The person will often feel an intense painful sensation in the part of the extremity that is no longer there. This can also happen in people with spinal cord injury who feel pain in a part of their body that is paralyzed. It can be difficult to treat not impossible to treat.
