Causes: Most common cause of preterm cramping is dehydration. Second most common cause is a urinary tract infection. Other causes can be problems with placenta (placenta previa, for instance). Lots of things can irritate the uterus, for instance, when women have diarrhea or problems with intestine, can cause cramping in uterus as well.
