Depends: It really depends on what is causing your pain. If the rod is particularly prominent and causing local pain, and the fracture is healed, then removing the rod may be reasonable. If the rod is not particularly prominent and does not appear to be causing problems, then other causes to your knee pain should be sought. Thank you for the question.
